Vacancéole - Grand Morillon

The location near the slopes was great, and I understand this was a cheap hotel, so I can’t complain about the price. But the stay was shocking. We arrived from our transfer at 2 pm in heavy snow with three young children, and reception was shut until 4. There was nobody to leave our bags with. When we finally checked in, we’d only been given one set of bed linen despite booking for a family of five, and had to get that sorted. The apartment was very old and dated, with two small electric heaters that couldn’t warm the place properly. It was tiny for five people, and despite the listing, there was no TV or WiFi. We checked out early, loaded and started the dishwasher, stripped all the beds, left the linens in the bathtub for the cleaner, and even mopped the floors. The website said end-of-stay cleaning was included for stays of one to six days, yet they kept €120 of my deposit for a cleaning charge when I got home. Take my advice and pay a bit more for somewhere better.
