Logis Hôtel Le Moulin de la Beune

The watermill and flowing water made for a romantic, relaxing setting, though the family-run hotel and restaurant is tucked away just a minute’s walk from the main street. We originally chose it for one night because it welcomes small dogs and has private parking, then stayed a second night because we liked it so much. The rooms were clean and in the standard French style, with sheets and blankets instead of duvets. It wasn’t expensive for the area, and we didn’t mind. The gourmet food was worth every penny, with attentive, wine-savvy waiters. The Armagnac souflet was to die for, so we had it both nights!

Philip and Zhanna hosted our wedding this year, and everything they did for us was perfect. Our guests were hugely impressed by the hotel’s location and restaurant, just as we were when we first found them in 2015. They have a wonderful hotel and restaurant. If you’re coming to Les Eyzies, please stay here and enjoy the delightful food Philip and his team make. Adam and Marianne

The hotel is still charming, and the hostess is very welcoming. But be careful, the restaurant has changed chef and the food is now, well, inedible. I had a horrible meal, dry, badly cooked and barely edible. I was so surprised because this is a Michelin rated restaurant, so I asked around town and was told the chef had changed and the restaurant had gone downhill since. It was the worst meal I had in France. Michelin better catch up!!!

The surroundings are nice, but there’s nothing special about the hotel itself. The room was small and dark, and the beds weren’t comfortable. The bathroom was even smaller and outdated. Breakfast was ordinary.
