HÔTEL*** La Croix Blanche

The food was good, especially the polenta with bourguignon meat, which was outstanding. It was the only decent place to eat we found in les Gets.

This review is about the restaurant only, as I didn’t stay at the hotel. The way customers are treated there is extremely rude. If they don’t want to work, nobody is forcing them to. I won’t be visiting again.

There were nine of us, three children and six adults. The menu and decor had raised our expectations, but the meal was a letdown. My Aperol spritz was the worst I’ve had, flat and watery. The fish and chips was a chewy piece of frozen deep-fried fish with just a few chips, for €26. My husband’s chicken burger was like a large, cheap chicken nugget, again with only a few chips and no salad. The portions were small and the quality poor. We don’t mind paying €26 per meal for food that’s better and more generous. We left feeling ripped off. Avoid this place.

The interiors are really nice and the location is good, but we left without eating. We’d been waiting 25 minutes without any acknowledgement from the staff, even after trying to get their attention. Around five tables arrived after us and got served first, including one with eight or ten people. The apology when we left felt insincere.
