Chalet Clementine

We loved relaxing by the log fire after skiing or having lunch on the sunny balcony, with those breathtaking views all around. Chalet Clementine is in a quiet part of the pedestrian village of Oz en Oisans, and it's well placed: a two-minute walk to a button lift on a green run, so you can ski back to the chalet at the end of the day. Inside, there are three good-sized bedrooms with comfortable beds, a separate bathroom with plenty of piping hot water, and two separate toilets. There isn't parking right beside the chalet, so after unloading our luggage we left the car a little way away. Steps lead down to the chalet, which would make it unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Oz en Oisans has lovely bars and restaurants, plus a small but well-stocked supermarket. The nursery slope, magic carpet, and sledging area are right in the village center. Since the village is car-free, it works especially well for families with young children. We were there with our two teenage children, who can't wait to return. We were first-time skiers, and the ESF lessons were very good. Clemont spoke excellent English and made the lessons fun and instructive. As a beginner, I appreciated having an instructor who understood which runs we could manage and helped us figure out the different ski lifts. Before the trip, the owners, Gary and Jan, were incredibly helpful. They made everything easy by explaining where to rent ski equipment, helping us buy our ski passes, and meeting us when we arrived. I couldn't fault them. Thank you so much, Gary and Jan! We hope to visit again.
