Les Granges den Haut

The chalet is beautifully decorated, the beds are very comfortable, and the main bedroom is spacious. But the staff, especially the woman at reception, were unfriendly and somewhat rude. When we asked for things, they said they'd get back to us and never did, so we had to go to reception ourselves for answers. The spa only allows two people, and there's just one restaurant, which doesn't serve breakfast. It's 15 minutes from Chamonix, so you need a car. The tea bags in the kitchen were spoiled and moldy, as shown in the pictures. I don't think I'd come back for a holiday here.

The staff were really friendly, and the chalets are beautiful and well located. We had one of our best ski holidays in a long time.

Toby and Cat were wonderful hosts who had thought of every detail. The accommodation was beautiful, the location was lovely, and the facilities were great. We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend it.

We expected a much better dinner for a hotel of this class. The soups, starters, and lamb from the set menu were fine, but the other main courses were below an acceptable level. We've had much better hamburgers at far cheaper taverns, and the Angus onglets were the worst I've ever eaten. The staff seemed inexperienced in dealing with the problem. After I complained, they took the plate away without asking or saying anything, then brought another one about 15 minutes later that was more or less the same quality. At least they removed that dish from the bill, but the dinner was spoiled.
