Apartment Le cairn 5

I learned that Le Cairn in Les Orres was closed from November 20, 2024 because of serious structural issues, including weak foundations and a risk of collapse. Access was restored on December 13, 2024, but I found no remedial work had yet made the building fully safe. With those risks, I wouldn’t recommend staying there until concrete safety measures are in place. I booked through Travelski, which I’d had good experiences with before, but they refused to cancel my booking free of charge and offered no alternative. That left me concerned about how little responsibility they take for customer safety. If you’re considering Le Cairn, do your research and consider other places until the building has been fully restored. Safety should come first.

The studios are good quality, quiet, and comfortable, with bunk beds and a double sofa bed. Garages and elevators are available. It’s right at the bottom of the slopes, close to the shops and restaurants, and near the ice rink. From the balcony on the other side, the view is magnificent.

What a snowy season! This is a lovely, well-insulated building with a great view. We’ll come back.
