The services are okay, with restaurants, shops, and cafés, and the ski area has runs for every level. It’s a nice family resort, but all three villages could use renovation. The buildings look old and tired, and it doesn’t compare with mid-range and higher-end resorts in Austria and Italy. We visited during the busiest winter week, French school holidays, and I wouldn’t recommend that timing. It was crowded from 9 a.m., with extremely long lift queues. We waited up to 30 minutes for a single lift ride. Try to avoid the French winter holidays. Skiing between noon and 3 p.m. was best, with almost no one on some lifts.
The scenery is a real bonus, and the instructors are polite and helpful. The slopes are good too, with plenty of difficulty levels to suit any skier.
Parking right by your accommodation can be tricky, though there are always free spaces in the main car park. The slopes and infrastructure have clearly had a lot of development work put into them. It’s a beautiful place, especially good for beginners and babies, and the staff are friendly everywhere. You can find good parties too, along with classic French food and some Italian restaurants. A true wonder. Must visit!
The area is wonderful, and I’ll come back. I went there for downhill biking, and the tracks are really nice. The downhill race track is no joke. You need a few runs to hit all the jumps.
Terrible. If you’re with family or a beginner, avoid this place, at least outside the French holiday periods, when east European party groups take over. The evening supermarket is packed with guys in their early twenties carefully choosing the cheapest alcohol. Beginners should watch out: green runs can feel really scary when experienced youngsters whizz past at 50 km/h on forest tracks barely 20 meters wide. Some green runs get steep enough to turn blue or even red in places, and you can end up fighting to get down while human cannonballs nearly hit you every three seconds. Bring earplugs too, since people in the apartment above or near you may have parties at full blast after midnight.
