The chalet itself is nice, but it creaks constantly, from the doors to the floors. Some bed slats were damaged and held with tape, the mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable, and the mattress protectors were torn. We also had to keep feeding the fireplace because the supplied firewood was in pallets. There was no inventory check when we arrived, only when we left. The owner set the electricity price, but gave us no proof of a meter reading. We had agreed there would be 24 of us, though he says I never told him that and claims the accommodation price was therefore wrong. He also asked for an extra cleaning payment even though cleaning had originally been included in the contract. We were charged €120 for cleaning, equivalent to six hours including tax, despite finding dust, cobwebs, dirty toilets and used chewing gum in the shower. Making a profit is one thing, but tenants aren't cash cows. Watch out for the owner's smooth talk.

The chalet could be a real gem, but it's poorly looked after. The owner directed us to a website showing it isolated, even though chalets have been built all around it over the past three years. When we arrived, there was construction in the garden, with rebar sticking out everywhere. The owner hadn't warned us, and it felt extremely dangerous with children around. The garage is rented as a year-round dwelling, leaving no designated parking; we were getting in the way of its tenant and the neighbors. The place was dirty and badly maintained. The owner changed some mattress protectors and bath mats in front of us, but not all of them. After the rain, two bedrooms flooded. Another looked onto a pile of pallet wood where mice moved around at night, and the last faced a dump. Such a shame, since the place has a lot of potential.

We stayed in both chalets. They were clean, cozy and comfortable, and Alain was a pleasant host who communicated well. The ski area works for beginners and advanced skiers alike, and everyone was friendly. Highly recommended!

Alain was kind and helpful throughout our stay. The chalet was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a quiet setting, fresh mountain air and lovely natural surroundings. It worked perfectly for gathering with family or friends. I highly recommend it.

We spent a superb week with a group of 18 at La Pastorale. The layout and location were both pleasant, and the chalet was great for getting together with friends or family. Our host was welcoming, friendly and helpful. A great stay in Les Orres, see you soon...
