There’s a lovely view, and you can walk to the 1650 resort center, shops, and entertainment in about five minutes. You can also get to 1800 on foot. The residence is quiet, tucked at the end of a cul-de-sac, with easy parking right outside, though it costs money. Skiers are well placed, with access to the slopes after a short, slightly steep uphill walk of about a minute, and ski-in/ski-out access to the ski lockers. There’s no elevator, though.
The ski lockers are roomy and handy, and it’s easy to park in the cul-de-sac. After 6 pm, though, it can get very busy because the slopes are so close. We’ve stayed in a few places here, and this one is the best in the resort. You can ski right back to the ski room. It’s also really quiet, at the end of a cul-de-sac with no busy roads around, and the location is ideal. Just keep in mind there are several floors and no elevator. Highly recommended.
The building is in a great spot for both the slopes and the resort, and there’s more room to park in summer. In winter, parking is difficult because day skiers from nearby take up all the spaces. Some spots should be reserved for tenants, but they aren’t. It may help to arrive around 6 p.m., when people are leaving and spaces open up.
Once you get across the bridge, the slopes are directly accessible. The apartment is very good and was rented through L'Agence des Orres. We had a view of the slopes and trees, and it’s set away from the shops, so it’s quieter. The downside is getting to the slopes: when the little bridge is frozen, it can be impassable or very difficult and dangerous to cross. If you can, bring some coarse salt to sprinkle on it for five minutes to make it easier. Be careful, there’s a stream underneath. I’d definitely recommend this building.
There’s no elevator, but the residence is well placed for skiing. The apartment works for a couple with two children.
