Le Marius

This was our second time staying here, once on the way out and now on our return. We picked a different room this time, no 10, just to see what else they had. The room was great, and we had another good meal at the restaurant. The rooms are large and clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and there’s good food to be had here. We’ll definitely stay again, just not in room 10. The downside was the church bell. At 7am it rang far more than seven times and went on forever. We hadn’t heard it so loudly during our first stay in room no 4. It rang again just before 8am and at 8am. I suppose that’s fine if you’re travelling and need to be up anyway.

We were travelling to Beaune and stopped in Les Riceys. The team at Le Marius were friendly and found us a place for lunch even though they were about to close the restaurant. The food was pretty good, and the cave is beautiful. It seems like somewhere travellers often stop on their way through.

A cosy, really comfortable hotel in a beautiful location. The service was excellent and the room was nice and clean. The shower felt a little outdated, but everything else was lovely.

A cute little hotel on the edge of the Champagne district, with everything you need for a couple of days among the vineyards and the area’s many champagne houses. The restaurant serves tasty regional flavors.
