The owners were so kind and welcoming, even with my dog, and kindly let the mess slide. I arrived late, in the dark, but was greeted with a lovely meal. The forest, lake, animals and quiet around the place felt almost magical. I was stunned by it all.

The breakfast, at 10 euros, was a little basic, but I still had a lovely stay. It’s dog-friendly, with parking right outside, and I had an excellent dinner for a fair price. The rooms are cosy, and the fires must be lovely in winter. Set among wooded hills with great walks and real quiet, it’s a much nicer option near St Die than a chain hotel beside a noisy car park for a night. It would work just as well for a longer stay.

Tucked into the forest, it’s a proper escape from all the madness of the world. The rooms were clean, the food was good, and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. Definitely recommend 👌

We didn’t stay the night, so I can’t comment on that. We did take a nice walk with the inn’s little dog, who knew exactly where to go, then had a meal at the inn in a lovely green, peaceful setting. We really enjoyed the food and the service. Well done, and best wishes to the new owners.
