Hotel Les Voyageurs

The rooms are small and old, but the service is excellent and the welcome is warm. It’s right in front of the train station and within walking distance of the city center.

I ended up staying here because of the train strike and was really confused. A very kind staff member talked me through it and helped calm me down.

The room felt gloomy and had a 1960s look. The bathroom was tiny, and its door wouldn’t open all the way. I waited 20 minutes for hot water after turning on the shower. The shower gel and shampoo came in little sample sachets, and the pillow was extremely flat. There was a sign by the window asking guests not to leave cigarette butts on the sill. As a smoker, I didn’t feel like opening the window. Breakfast was terrible too: the room felt like a school cafeteria, and the coffee came from a coffee maker. For €9.50, they should make more effort. It’s opposite the train station, which earns it one point out of five and makes it feel like a real tourist trap. Stay at Cit'Hotel Le Chêne Vert next door for the same price.

The rooms were spotless, and breakfast was very generous. Parking is easy, just across the street in the station car park, and the hotel is accessible for people with reduced mobility. The service was impeccable, and the staff were as lovely as the owner, “Mimi.” She’s a wonderful woman who’ll go out of her way to meet your requests. We’ll remember this hotel.
