Novotel Pau Pyrénées

We stopped here to break up the long drive from Barcelona to Bordeaux, and it worked out really well. There are plenty of nearby restaurants for different tastes, and the pool area felt like a lovely oasis outside Lescar. The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic. It's also well located, and a great hotel.

The pool and outdoor spaces were fantastic for both adults and kids, and we were pleasantly surprised by the facilities during our one-night stop. Breakfast was the one letdown: when we arrived at 10 am, the buffet was nearly empty and the coffee machine wasn't working. The waiters were kind and did their best to help. I had already checked with the front office clerk that breakfast ran until 10:30, so food should be replenished at 10, perhaps in smaller amounts for guests arriving in the final 30 minutes, so they don't feel late. Apart from that incident, we had a great stay and will come back when we're passing through Pau.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were warm and professional. Service was top-notch, with every detail thoughtfully handled. I was extremely satisfied, and the stay was truly enjoyable. I'd gladly come back and recommend the hotel to others. Thank you for the outstanding hospitality.

The restaurant was a real highlight. We tried a few different dinner options, and every one was amazing, especially for a hotel restaurant in this price range. Breakfast also felt up to a 4-star standard, with good variety and quality. Staff were excellent: friendly, efficient, and spoke good English. The location is convenient, with plenty of shops and restaurants a short walk away. Parking is large and included in the room price, and there's an EV charger for two cars at a really reasonable charging price. Cleaning was good, but the rooms and furniture are outdated and need renovation. Apart from the reception and restaurant, the hotel also looks a bit dated. It's a somewhat mixed hotel, with some parts feeling more like a 3-star place. If modern rooms and furniture aren't a priority, it could be perfect for you. If they are, look elsewhere.
