Hotel Residence Champerret

We stayed for five days in June. The hotel is small and dated, but still in good condition and good value compared with other accommodation. The staff helped us from the start, and the desk is open 24 hours. Our room was quiet and got plenty of sunshine. What we enjoyed most was the neighbourhood: walking the quiet streets, seeing small businesses on every corner, and hearing “Bonjouur Madam/Monsieur” at every step. I like French people.

The location is perfect, and the service was very good. The receptionist spoke English and helped translate when I needed assistance in the parking garage, where nobody spoke English. The room is small, but fine for one person and a stay of just a few nights. I was there for one night, from 22:00 until 10:00 the next day. The bathroom and toilet are on the 3rd floor. A useful tip: street parking is free from 19:00 until 8:00 in the morning. There's also a garage 250m from the hotel, where parking costs €6 from 18:00 to 8:00, and €20 from 8:00 to 18:00.

This property treats people unfairly. We booked a double bedroom, but the receptionist wouldn't let our 18-month-old baby stay unless we booked and paid for an extra bed. We had to pay 24 Euros for the baby for 2 night and were given a 3 bed room. It felt like a money-making policy. He said the rules are the same all over Paris. If that's true, I'd say tourists should boycott Paris as a place to visit.

7/10. The room was a nice size, clean, and pleasant. The staff were lovely and understanding about us only speaking English. It was close to the metro, about 15-20mins into the city. Two bakeries nearby had the best croissants I’ve ever had: Bakery of Mr and Mrs Tabourel and Boulangerie Patisserie Le Petit Remy.
