The breakfast was very basic, without even a pastry. In the bathroom there wasn’t a small soap or shampoo, or a glass for drinking or brushing your teeth. The mattress was very hard, and our host seemed completely uninterested in us. We weren’t welcomed warmly, and he seemed in a hurry to get rid of us. He didn’t help carry our suitcase up the slightly steep stairs. I don’t understand why the room reviews for the Epinette are so positive, it seems suspicious. We don’t recommend it.

We slept really well here. Breakfast was basic but more than enough, and the rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom and toilet were spotless too. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing place, and we were welcomed so warmly.

We booked two rooms, one large room at the front and a smaller one at the back. The larger room was fine, but the drain in the small room smelled so strongly that we didn’t want to use its bathroom. Fortunately, we could use the other room. Taken as a whole, I’d give the hotel three stars.

My reservation was canceled 12 days before the scheduled arrival on September 4th because a work related issue connected to Covid prevented me from coming. The owner agreed to return my €70 deposit check, but I never received the refund. I sent several written reminders by email and called without getting an answer. The owners have completely disappeared. I consider professionals who act this way dishonest, and I’m clearly not the only one who’s had trouble booking a stay with them in Libourne. My advice: don’t book at the Logis de l'épinette.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with tasteful decor. We got a warm, attentive welcome, and they accommodated our request for a travel cot. The price was affordable too. Excellent choice.
