B&B HOTEL Lens Musée du Louvre

We’ve stayed at B&B hotels plenty of times. They’re basic, but normally clean enough for a one-night stop. This one was awful. The room was worn down, and the shower drain was so blocked that water flooded the room. There was nobody on duty to help, so we were left to deal with it ourselves. With only two towels in the room, we couldn't mop up the floor. B&B needs to sort this hotel out. It’s letting the chain down.

The car park was sometimes so packed that another car blocked the exit and delayed us. During my stay of more than two weeks, room cleaning amounted to emptying the bin, leaving a fresh towel and two paper cups. They never swept the floor or changed the sheets. After I dropped a piece of chocolate biscuit, they left it there for days, so I had to sleep in the other bed. Breakfast was a joke. The scrambled eggs seemed to be made from powder, and the fried bacon upset my stomach. The only other choices were jam or tasteless yoghurt. There were no vegetables, ham or cheese. The rooms are small, and the toilet is even smaller. You rarely see a receptionist. Otherwise, you're pushed to check in using an ATM-like machine or call the service line. I had a terrible time here, probably the worst stay of my life. Anyone giving this place four or five stars must be blind or used to living in a barn. I wish there were a zero-star rating.

We arrived late, but online check-in meant there was nothing to worry about. The spacious family room was clean and ready for us.

The staff were nice and breakfast was good, but I barely slept. The room was hotter than outside, and the A/C hardly helped, even though it wasn't an especially hot day. There was also something about the bed that bugged me.
