Maison Chabrat

It’s nicely tucked away from the usual route. Breakfast was excellent, and Le Bois was clean, comfortable, and decorated really well. The room had a large double bed and a single bed, both with good quality duvets. The bathroom was spacious enough and had modern fittings. One thing to keep in mind: the parking area and the fairly steep path up to the house are covered in crushed stone. That could be hard for guests with limited mobility, and it isn’t suitable for wheelchair users.

We had a wonderful week there last summer at this beautiful family-run place above the lake. There are picnic backpacks available for day trips, which is handy, and the area is great for cycling and hiking. Be sure to book the evening menu, otherwise you’ll really miss out.

A few more days there would probably be worthwhile. The hosts were very friendly, and the Belgian goulash we got to try one evening was delicious. Breakfast had everything we needed. The place is near Lac de Neuvic, and the alpacas in the field are lovely to look at. Thanks, and all the best!

After about ten stays, I’ve never been disappointed. The area is attractive, and it’s always so quiet and peaceful. The welcome is warm, the room comfortable, and the home-cooked evening meals are both delicious and nicely presented. It’s always perfect!
