The beds were comfortable and the staff helpful, and I had no problems with the stay. The only issue was the overnight parking charge, €21 even for a guest, which is just extortionate.

The bed was comfortable, and the location was good, but that’s about where the positives stop. Our room was advertised with air conditioning, but the unit was “broken.” When I asked about it, I was told only some rooms have aircon and guests need to contact the hotel to request it specifically. That wasn’t what the website said, and I took a screenshot. The fan they provided was inadequate and just pushed the hot air around. The windows faced the building’s apex and couldn’t be opened, so the room felt like an oven, with the temperature reading 27°C. I don’t know if that’s legal. I asked the deputy manager about another room, and he said he’d look into it but never got back to me. Later I requested another fan, and he again promised to follow up, but didn’t. The service was extremely poor and incompetent. We were eventually moved because our room was an oven, but the shower in the new room only dribbled and the curtain pole fell down. It was a very disappointing stay, and frankly shameful, given the misleading advertising and lack of basic customer care. YOU WERE WARNED!!

Everything looks a bit dated, and the rooms feel very run down rather than clean. The sheets felt grainy, as if from a low thread count and lots of washing, and even the phone at the front desk was dusty. This hotel really shouldn’t be rated so highly.

The building and architecture are beautiful, and the service was great. The rooms were comfortable and well located near the city centre. But there was no hot water, and the showers were broken.
