The morning started with a delicious, generous breakfast brought to our room, with a lovely view of the opera. The evening before, we’d enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar, which had a cozy feel. Our room was beautiful and had a stunning opera view, and champagne was waiting there with a thoughtfully handwritten card. The staff welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived, and the service made us feel at home straight away. We had a fantastic weekend at the Carlton Hotel, and it’s a stay we won’t forget.

Felicia was on reception when we arrived late without a booking. She was so friendly and helpful, and found us a fantastic room with air conditioning. The room was excellent, and breakfast was great too. I’d definitely stay at the Lille Carlton again.

We had a gorgeous, very spacious junior suite, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast wasn’t included, so I can’t comment on the food. Lille is charming, and we’d definitely stay here again.

The location is perfect, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Room service was excellent, the air conditioning worked very well, and breakfast was tasty. But for the premium price, the stay was poor overall. The rooms have cheap plastic flooring, and noise from upstairs was loud and intrusive. The promised toiletries never showed up. The bathroom basin was coming away from the wall and the tap was loose, and the beds on wheels would suddenly move. Like my school report said, this place has potential but could do better.

The breakfast was great, with fresh local food, lovely cut fruit, and very good tea. Our room had a lovely view over the opera, and the bathtub was a hit with my son. I was annoyed to find no hair conditioner or body lotion in the bathroom. I’d forgotten mine while packing in a rush, and the shops were closed. The welcome email had also promised local chocolates in the room, but they weren’t there. Otherwise, it was a very nice hotel.
