We found the room clean and the bed very comfortable. It was small by North American standards, but more than adequate for us, and the staff were polite and helpful. The decor was charming, with art by Matisse, Chagall, and Picasso throughout, plus comfortable seating areas on every floor. The amenities were excellent.

September was warm in our room, and we couldn’t open the windows because of biting insects. They still got in even with the mesh, so bring repellent if you visit. Aside from that, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is ideally placed for restaurants, shopping, bars, and sightseeing, and both railway stations are about a 10-minute walk away. There’s tea and coffee in the room, but only one of each and not much milk.

We stayed overnight in the heart of old Lille to celebrate our brother’s birthday. The staff were so helpful and made a real fuss of him, which made the visit feel personal. The hotel is perfectly placed for exploring the city, and I’d highly recommend it.

For our birthday getaway, we were glad to find this charming, welcoming place in the heart of Lille. It felt like a non-commercial retreat. I’d especially recommend it if you’re travelling on Eurostar, as it’s close to the station and easy to reach.

The main square is just a short walk away, which made the central location really convenient. Staff were friendly and happy to help, and although the room had an older look, it was clean and practical.
