I’d stayed in this apartment several times before, but this trip went badly. Booking.com had problems, so I couldn’t pay online. I contacted Monique on her mobile, explained what was going on, and asked if she could accept cash. She agreed, so we bought bus tickets without worrying. Then, in the morning, she texted to say she’d changed her mind. We were already on the bus, without internet, and couldn’t locate the apartment. When we arrived, I had to find somewhere to stay in a hurry so we wouldn’t be left out on the street. It was incredibly unpleasant. Really!
