The village bistro was a real bonus, and we’d happily recommend it. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and the view over the village. Our short stay at La Treille Rouge felt like a lovely change of scenery, with a warm welcome, a spotless room in a house full of history, quiet nights, and a very pleasant breakfast.

Limans is a tiny, characterful hamlet, just right if you’re looking to enjoy some quiet and stillness. We spent a weekend here with five friends and found the welcome simple, genuine, and warm. The rooms were comfortable, inviting, and nicely decorated. Despite our late arrival, our two hosts made us a delicious dinner, and they were friendly and helpful both beforehand and throughout the stay. A lovely place to spend a few days enjoying the region’s authentic flavors and scents.

The garden was a lovely place to unwind, and the village is very cute. Thomas and François were such kind hosts. The house and room are pretty, and breakfast was simple but tasty, with lots of homemade things. For such an affordable price, I’d recommend it.

François even got up early to serve breakfast at 5:30 am, which we appreciated, and the hosts were attentive and friendly. We stayed in the “Marie Claire” room, and for 70 euros I didn’t think it was worth it. The bedding was very good, but the room was small and the bathroom barely existed, especially the sink. It was only a hand basin, with no soap or shower products and no glass, though perhaps that was just an oversight. I didn’t see the other rooms. I know it’s someone’s home, but I would have liked a bit more tidiness, since there were too many things lying around. Just okay overall, and maybe another room would be a better choice.

The hosts are generous and clearly enjoy talking about all kinds of things. Their family home is being brought back to life in a small, authentic village, in a remarkable setting.
