Room 1 was a sweatbox, and the supplied fan didn’t help us sleep. It was on the ground floor and looked nothing like the photos on Booking.com. Its only window faces the pavement and has a shutter behind it, so there’s no daylight and, more importantly, no ventilation. DO NOT USE ROOM 1.

The top floor apartment was clean and comfortable, but we got no cleaning at all during our week-long stay. The towel rail didn’t work, and there was no sink plug to make washing up easy. It got so hot that we had to keep the windows open, though the road was noisy, and someone in the next apartment shouted and banged doors during the night. Getting in was a bad start: there was no check-in area, so on our first visit to Limoges we had to call last-minute.com for the owners’ number while waiting outside in the rain.

In summer, sleeping here was really difficult. With the window shut it was too hot, and there’s no air conditioning or fan. I tried leaving it open, but the traffic noise was constant. The window looks onto a boulevard, with a traffic light right outside the entrance, so you hear radios and cars braking and pulling away. The apartment itself was excellent, but I’d avoid it in summer unless you have air conditioning or a fan, if they even install one.

The traffic by the nearby lights and the slamming front door were noisy, so we kept the shutters closed. We were on the ground floor and there were no curtains. Also, no TV at all! Eight days without one is going to be a challenge 😭. Still, it’s a charming little studio, tastefully renovated, with a comfortable bed and a kitchenette with a microwave. It felt very secure and is just steps from Place Carnot and the shops. I do recommend it!
