Hotel Les Arcades

We had dinner for six on a night of heavy rain, and the service was cheerful and the food was presented beautifully. Friends praised the excellent cassolet and salmon, while I had an entrecote cooked well done to perfection. The goat cheese salad starter was outstanding, and nougat glace rounded off my meal nicely. Others tried different desserts, but the warm chocolate fondant was the standout. The wine list is modest but sufficient, and prices were about like the other restaurants on the square. Probably the best food on the Place de la Republique. We'll return.

For me, this is the best restaurant in central Limoux. The prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and both the food and service are excellent.

The regular waiter was cheerful and excellent. It was good value at €55, though not cheap. My wife enjoyed a large, tasty entrecote, while I had delicious fillet of Loup de mer with a very tasty mustard a l'ancienne sauce. The potato slices were the best I've had this year. For dessert, I had a superb pancake filled with raspberry sorbet; miley chose the cheese selection. We both had coffee afterward.

We made a reservation, then a few hours later realized we couldn't get to the hotel. We were biking through France and the weather had turned against us. They still charged us the full rate.
