Villa Irène

The long beach is only about 300 meters away, with clear water and very shallow stretches that suit families with children. There are quieter spots to find and room for long walks too. We were three and I'd happily recommend the house. It's set on a large plot beside a small park in the established holiday-home complex in Bravone. The house has two bedrooms and comfortably fits four. It's well equipped, though the bathroom is small, with everything needed. Three terraces let you choose sun or shade. I especially liked the barbecue, and there are a washing machine, a dryer, and the other things you might need. A mobile bakery sells fresh bread near the village entrance at about 8:00 a.m. There's no supermarket in the village yet, though apparently a small one may open soon. Other shops and supermarkets are easy to reach by car. The traditional market at the entrance every Thursday is worth a look, with fruit, vegetables, cheese, and other Corsican specialties. The homeowner's detailed guide to shops, hikes, and excursions was very helpful. There are also restaurant business cards in a box at the house. We tried several places, and all were excellent.

We had a wonderful three weeks here with our children. The villa is lovely and thoughtfully furnished, with everything we needed, comfortable beds, and a great grill. Two shady terraces and a small garden sit behind high hedges, giving plenty of privacy despite the central location. The beach is just two minutes away, and the children's beach is five minutes away. A sandbank makes for lots of shallow water. There's no cell reception, thankfully, but the Wi-Fi is great. Corsica offers plenty of places to explore, and the food was great. A quick road-bike ride into the mountains is a dream, and it looks like a nice area for hiking too. The family loved the stay. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

We were a couple travelling with motorcycle gear, and this detached house in the holiday village suited us perfectly.
