The large pitches with views weren’t available at all during our four nights, so campers were packed into smaller spaces. It looked as if half the pitches and wash blocks had been closed, perhaps to reduce the work. Reception was shut for lunch until 3pm in the first week of September, even though the owners live less than 100 metres away. The staff were unfriendly at reception and nowhere to be seen the rest of the time. The washrooms needed cleaning, and there was no toilet paper in the dispensers. They seem to do the bare minimum, and it was overpriced. We only stayed because we’d booked and paid in advance. We won’t be back.

It’s a great spot for exploring the village, and the facilities were in immaculate condition. The children’s play area is very limited, really only suitable for kids up to four, with nothing for older children. That does make the whole site very quiet in mid-June.

We loved how relaxed this campsite was, and can’t wait to return. The owners were so friendly, the facilities were fantastic, and the setting was wonderful. We stayed twice last year, in 2012. The pool was a lovely extra, and Locronan is a beautiful village with a really nice bar.

The view over the bay is something else, and the bungalows have all the equipment you need plus free wi-fi. There’s even a heated pool at 28°C. A friendly couple run the campsite, and they helped us make a doctor’s appointment in French. We’d definitely recommend it!

The staff are really kind, and you can get bread if you order it the day before. Locronan is about a 10-minute walk away, or a shorter drive, though you’ll need to park outside the village in the free lot to the right of the entrance. The view from up top is beautiful. Just be aware the bathrooms are a bit of a hike uphill if you’re staying on the top.
