The garden and atmosphere are absolutely lovely, and the village setting is beautiful. The rooms are simple and a little worn, but that suited the place. Breakfast was the letdown. We arrived after other guests and had to look around for what was left, including clean plates, cups and spoons. For three people there were two croissants, some baguette, a little cheese and marmalade. When we asked about ham, salami or sausage, the woman said she was new and didn’t know the house. She checked the fridge, found salami, then said it was too old and she’d throw it away. The next morning there were no croissants, just about 15 cm of baguette for three of us. At least she found eggs and cooked them for us. It seemed the owner was on vacation and she was filling in. The owner should make sure the substitute knows how things work, so other guests don’t have the same disastrous breakfast we did.

I stumbled across this lovely village and found a magical spot right beside the Loue River. Breakfast in the garden under the wisteria was enchanting. My room was a good size, with a big comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub. ☺️

The river’s quiet murmur lulled us to sleep, and the natural surroundings made for a really rejuvenating stay. We loved the setting and the charm of the area, which are the property’s main strengths. We spent two nights in the large house. For the price, though, we expected a few basics that weren’t there: toilet paper, a trash can, soap or shower gel, and a third large towel for our group of three. We asked Gilbert, who eventually brought the missing things. Cleanliness could also be better. A beautiful location, but some parts of the service need attention to match the price.

The hosts were really welcoming and did all they could to make us comfortable, even buying us a coffee machine. The room was spacious and well equipped, but it fell just short of what the photos and our expectations suggested. A bit more care with the interior details and cleaning the terrace furniture would help justify the slightly higher price. We had a good stay.

The only real drawback was the Wi-Fi, which worked only in the lovely common room. Still, this is an unforgettable place, with a fairytale feel where time seems to have stopped. Our room was spacious and welcoming, the staff were extremely helpful and attentive, and the setting beside the beautiful Loue River is charming.
