The manager made a real impression on me, a kind, energetic young man who has recently taken over and clearly cares about what he’s doing. Renovations are happening gradually, and they’re being done with care and good taste while keeping the feel of a traditional French hotel. My room was spotless, the bed was especially comfortable, and it had the things I needed, including towels, shampoo, and a hairdryer. The staff were warm and friendly throughout. Hôtel de l’Abbaye de Longpont is also perfectly placed for walking to the abbey and exploring nearby. I had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it.

We came back for a second visit, four years after our first one, before COVID, and both stays were excellent. The town is lovely, and the dining room has a great view of the ruined abbey and a big open fire. Dinner was lovely too. The staff were charming and helpful, and the waitress had a good sense of humour and encouraged us while we struggled through our French. We’ll come back.

The value was better than at most of the places I’ve visited. We spent two days in the area and had a great time, with excellent food at both dinner and breakfast. There’s plenty of parking, and the people are friendly. It’s a charming area with a great atmosphere. Be sure to visit the Abbey and explore the surroundings too. If you’re nearby, do stop in.

The food was awful. The chicken was served very cold, and the dessert was far too acidic. Such a shame, because the place is beautiful, the hotel is nicely located, and the restaurant and its decor are lovely.

A lovely old-fashioned traditional hotel in a village setting. The food was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Well worth a detour.
