We only had one night, which was a shame, and I’m writing this from the very comfortable bed with coffee beside me. We haven’t had breakfast yet, but I’m sure it’ll be lovely. Florence and Sylvain clearly put a lot of care into the place, and this couple made us feel special and looked after. The space was warm, clean, and full of thoughtful touches: a fridge with a large bottle of water, coffee maker, kettle, tea and fresh ground coffee, plus a bathrobe, good cleansing products, and a shoe shine brush in the bathroom. There’s a little library too, with books, old record players, and other quirky things. The bathroom has creamy stone walls, and the hall’s original ‘tomettes’ tiles lead from the softly glowing wooden bedroom floor. Our huge bedroom had a desk, table and chairs, a snug sitting area, antiques and unusual pieces, all put together with real style. The welcome from Sylvain was so warm, and after we went up the beautiful staircase, we were shown to what I can only call ‘quarters’, it was so much more than a room. The plain-looking front door gives no hint of what’s inside. Such a treat, and we’ll definitely be back.

It was an unexpected, authentic experience in Loudoun, and the rooms were lovely and well equipped. We arrived late at night, but our hosts were there to greet us, and it felt like being welcomed into a friend’s home. Thank you very much.

I came back to Florence and Sylvain's home for two days with my family, and it brought back the values I grew up with. Thank you so much for sharing that feeling with my family. I hope to see you soon! This place captures so much of what makes Loudun authentic and beautiful. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the house is immaculate and has a soul that feels calm and peaceful, and the welcome was remarkable. The traditional breakfast was magnificent too.

The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and breakfast is available for an extra €5, payable in cash. For a family stay, it’s great value. We spent a wonderful night in Loudain, with two adjoining rooms that worked perfectly for us. The main bedroom felt warm, with a large gilded mirror over a marble fireplace, old wooden floors, and decor mixing classic and modern styles. In the other room, a mural of two tree faces looking at each other was a delightful surprise. Everything was clean and cozy.

Florence and Sylvain are absolutely lovely. The house has been renovated with respect for its history, and there’s taste, finesse, and even humor in the smallest details. It’s spacious and comfortable, and the homemade breakfasts are hearty. An exceptional place!
