The room was basic but manageable. The bathroom door wouldn’t close and the shower head was broken, though the beds were reasonable. My sister was on the fifth floor and her room seemed better than ours. We had fresh towels each day, but the beds weren’t made or changed during the week. The staff were very friendly, and each evening they cooked us a nice three-course meal for €10 per person. There was continental breakfast in the morning, and the free Wi-Fi worked. I’d stay here again.

There’s plenty of room, and the staff are friendly. The location is handy for the attractions, including the cave sanctuary, and the shops. Parking is limited to six spaces in the garage, so you need to be lucky to get a spot. If you do, you can leave the car there and walk around. The bathroom was clean, but the room itself is old and needs freshening up, with a few broken things to fix. The bed hadn’t been changed when we arrived, so we had to ask. The lift wasn’t disinfected, and staff weren’t wearing masks properly, if at all. Hygiene felt poor during COVID. It was noisy in the evening, though that depends on the neighbors. Fine for a short stay, especially at €28 a night. Breakfast had a good all-you-can-eat selection, but food left out from the morning was still sitting uncovered on the tables the next day. We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat any.

For €27, getting a single room and breakfast is hard to beat, especially with the amenities included. Breakfast had a decent spread of croissants, yogurt, fruit, cereal, ham, cheese, and more, and the quality was better than fair. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, though the decor is dated. The welcoming staff were another plus. I’d rate it above a Formula 1 or Première Classe hotel.
