Htel Lys de Marie

Laetitia deserves a special thank you for how caring and understanding she was when we had an unexpected medical emergency on arrival. I’m grateful from the bottom of my heart. The whole experience was great, and we’d gladly come back. The staff were cordial and helpful, the room was nice and clean, the food was very good, and service was efficient. Everything was centrally located within walking distance of the main attractions, the church, and the grotto.

Our room suited me, and I’d stay here again when visiting Lourdes on Pilgrimage. We were there with a group, mostly volunteers working every day, so we didn’t spend much time at the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the bar area was pleasant. Meals were generally OK. Our first one was served at 1:00 a.m. after a long delay, and we were glad to get it. I would have liked more salads, and sometimes the food didn’t match the printed menu. For example, sausage with green beans turned into sausage with very bland haricot beans in a thin tomato sauce. I also didn’t always get the early morning wake-up call I had booked. My room was fine for me, though I know at least two other guests had to change rooms because theirs didn’t suit them.

We were on a group tour, and the staff helped us out. Breakfast was good, and the view from our room was lovely, over the river and the mountains. The hotel is central, just a few meters from the shopping area and the actual church. It was cold while we were there, but the air felt really fresh. I can’t comment on public transport nearby. Thanks for giving us a room with such a nice view. I’d stay again if we revisit Lourdes.

The rooms are comfortable, though pretty basic. I liked the location, and the river-facing rooms higher up have fantastic views of the mall. There’s also a café by the street serving fresh-squeezed juice, beer, coffee and tea.
