Hostellerie Le Paradou

The trouble started when we arrived early in the afternoon for a family event in Lourmarin in July 2022. We had booked four rooms well ahead and were travelling with two little kids, but one room was missing. Reception said they would sort something out by the end of the day. That night, the room still hadn't appeared, and the extra bed they had promised wasn't available either. The owner was rude and unpleasant, offered no apology, and blamed us for his failure to do his job. Seriously 😳. I asked for a discount because of the stressful situation and poor treatment, and suddenly a fourth room was found almost right away 🧐. We took it, only to find a pair of safety shoes, dirty socks, and underpants left as our welcome gift. Yuck!! We paid full price, which was pretty expensive for a dirty place with such poor service. The supposed “natural” swimming pool was more like a frog pond, and neither the hotel nor its grounds seemed maintained. It felt like the owner only wanted to make money off guests in this very touristy Provençal village. Absolutely disgusting. Avoid this hotel. Passez votre chemin!

The air felt so fresh, and the hotel's location was superb. We also loved the Thai kitchen, especially how well they got the Thom Yam just right. The showers looked brand new. Totally recommend this awesome hotel.

The room and surroundings were lovely, and the owners were friendly. The Thai food was good too.

Always a lovely place to come back to, with the same beautiful setting and consistently good, clean food. And don't forget the rosé Bandol wine selection, excellent!
