Hotel Poretta

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the location was great. But the nearby bar was incredibly loud, with live music and a DJ keeping us awake past 0100. Closing the windows and shutters and putting in earplugs didn’t help. The hotel staff hadn’t warned us.

The people at reception were kind and helpful. You can walk from the airport, and the hotel has large rooms, free parking, huge toilets, an electric car charger, and a swimming pool. For the price of a 3-star place, it feels almost like a 4-star hotel.

The staff were friendly, and the pool was clean with nice sunbeds. Parking was good, too. The room was very basic, with no kettle or fridge, and it was noisy, with people leaving at all hours of the night. The bar had no tonic, lemonade, or wine. The restaurant next door was fully booked, and there was nowhere else within walking distance to eat. We’d driven for several hours to get there, so that was a problem.

The rooms are a good size and the bathroom was decent. There’s a small bar, run by dedicated people, that stays open late. It’s a handy hotel for Bastia airport. I wasn’t keen on breakfast: ham, cheese, crusty bread, a croissant, and coffee. Though, I suppose that’s pretty standard at small hotels on the continent.
