We arrived at Bastia airport around 8pm, near the start of the beach season, and stayed our first night on Corsica before heading on to Saint-Florent and Calvi. We were two adults and two children on an 11-day holiday. The room was good, and both the late dinner and breakfast were good too. In the morning, we spent an hour in the pool before setting off. It’s a very nice beach hotel, especially handy because it’s so close to the airport.

We had lunch as a group of five and then used the pool. The salads were really basic, and for what they cost, the dishes could have been put together with more care. The portions weren’t especially small, but they weren’t generous for the price either. I understand prices are higher when pool access is included, and I accept that.

The people are friendly, and the freshwater pool is excellent, though it can get a bit crowded since lunch and dinner guests who aren’t staying at the hotel can use it too. The rooms feel outdated. To me, the place comes across more as a stopover hotel than somewhere to spend a holiday.

Claude found a way to look after us even though we arrived exhausted at the last minute and there was no room available. The hotel, pool, setting, and staff were all lovely, and we’d happily come back. Be sure to try the restaurant. One thing to know: in a loft room, the AC downstairs might not cool the upper level very well.
