The restaurant food was perfect, and the staff made us feel really welcome. On my motorcycle tour through Europe, after two weeks away on my own with two more still to go, it was nice to stop for a beer somewhere relaxing. Beautiful location, too.

The other staff were friendly and willing to speak English, but my late check-in left me with a strange welcome from the woman at the restaurant counter. After riding 700km toward Switzerland, I was staying one night and asked for two forks so I could eat my own travel food in my room, since there was nowhere to eat at that hour. The restaurant is in a separate building. She didn’t know English, which is fine, but she got frustrated, raised her voice, and said I couldn’t take a fork to my room. I tried to explain it was a can of tuna and that I’d been riding all day. She insisted I had to eat in the restaurant, which is quite expensive. After 5-10 minutes, she finally gave me the forks. It felt childish and odd, and she seemed frustrated with English-speaking tourists.

The warm welcome and service were the best part. The food was fantastic, and the meeting facilities worked really well for our team offsite. There’s beautiful space both inside and outside. Many thanks to everyone there.
