L'Appartement du Parc

The receptionists were kind, and breakfast was a decent buffet, though there wasn’t any hot food. I stayed five nights and found the room and bathroom very clean, with everything working. There was an electric kettle for tea. I didn’t need the air conditioner, so I can’t say how well it works. The TV had no signal, but I wasn’t looking to watch it and didn’t ask staff for help.

The staff welcomed us warmly, and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was decent too. Parking in Lyon is very expensive, so the hotel offers a spot in a private garage two streets away. Reserve it in advance; it costs 12€ a day. On the street, parking cost 55€ for 10 hours.

For exploring Lyon for a day or two, this place worked perfectly for us. We had a family room with four beds. It isn’t five-star, but the cost reflects that. The station is only a five-minute walk away, and a day pass from there can get you to the old city and up the funicular for a great view over town. Walking to the old city takes 30-40 minutes. I think the people who built the floors and the people who built the windows must have fallen out…

The location is really good, the rooms are nice, and the staff are super friendly. We left at 2:00am and had no trouble since there’s a night shift at reception, so you can check out during the night. I’d definitely return!
