I chose this relaxing stay because I was having dinner at the superb restaurant La Licorne Royale. The bed was comfortable, and the service was polite and professional throughout. The room had some quirks, like the bathroom door layout, but that's to be expected in a beautiful historic building.

The hotel itself is charming, and the room was large with a good breakfast. But the service didn't feel up to a four-star hotel. I asked about a baby cot and no one ever got back to me. We waited 15 minutes for a menu, then I had to fetch one from reception. After that, nobody came to take our order, so we gave up. There was no AC on a really hot day. The room also had lots of hazards, and I don't think it's suitable for people with walking difficulties or parents with babies. Access is by stairs only.

Edit, 15th June: The hotel's reply is 100% empty bullshit. Don't waste my time or yours with such a useless answer. The place is nice, but our room was small, and the bed cover had burn holes. The bathroom was cramped and odd, with a very narrow way into the WC. Breakfast was way overpriced at 20 euros per person, with no scrambled eggs or even proper croissants.

In a quaint Normandy village surrounded by beautiful scenery, this is an excellent hotel. The restaurants, spa and bedrooms were all top quality.
