The little castle is beautiful, and the restaurant is quite nice. We had a lovely stay at Mafflier. The place feels idyllic and is very pleasant to get around, and the staff are so nice and welcoming.

The horse riding was a highlight for me. The food was great too, and everyone on staff was really friendly. I had an amazing stay and would love to return.

There’s plenty of open space for kids to play, and they also offer horse rides. The Domaine’s restaurant is excellent, and there’s a pool when the weather is good. It’s a peaceful place to rest, with lots of forest and greenery. Definitely a place worth visiting.

If you’re going to eat dinner there, book a time when you get the reservation email. The restaurant has limited space. We went for a long summer weekend when the hotel was full, and dinner service showed some cracks, especially the tight space in the grassy eating area and the way tables were assigned. There were also some food selection compromises to serve around 90 rooms’ worth of guests. Given how many people were there at once, families and couples of all ages, that’s forgivable. This is a terrific Novotel concept, quite different from most other Novotels in the Accor brand. It combines a chateau and hotel with a conference centre, two restaurants, a bar, pool, small health spa with a pool and sauna, stables, and bike rentals, all in a large park and forest. The stables are amazing, and you can book a ride in the forest, just call ahead and arrange it. For kids, there’s a play area, a cinema, and lots of room to run, play, and shout. Self-serve glass carafes, glasses, and filtered water are free, and there are fridges in the rooms if you want to bring drinks. Recommended.
