The food and service were a letdown. Dinner was bland, our drinks arrived after we’d finished the main course, and breakfast was poor quality, with industrial bread and fried eggs that weren’t cooked through. The rooms were freezing, too. I had to ask for an extra blanket and still couldn’t sleep properly. The three people travelling with me felt the same way. Staffing and safety were also disappointing. Every interaction I had with reception, restaurant, or housekeeping staff fell below the standard I’d expect from a four star hotel. When my room wasn’t ready in the morning, I was told the hotel would hold my bag. That night, I found it sitting in plain sight by the desk with nobody watching it. As a solo female traveller, I was uncomfortable when the receptionist announced my room number loudly in the lobby, where other guests could hear.

The front desk was helpful, but the bar staff weren’t always around, and there were no snacks in the minibar or at reception. That’s a pretty odd setup. I couldn’t tell whether this was meant to be a golf hotel or a business hotel. The place felt a bit tired, although the rooms have been updated.

I was there for the HEC Executive program for AXA corporate event. The catering staff were especially helpful and flexible when we made requests.

The golf course setting is lovely, and the hotel itself is nice. The rooms felt basic for a four star place, though, and there’s no food or drinks service after hours. Not having vending machines is a big downside.

The night before my stay, I got an email saying the hotel had cancelled my booking, even though I had a guaranteed reservation as a Platinum Accor member. It was obviously overbooked, and they didn’t seem to care about their “valued” customers. Really disappointing!
