If you're cycling, I'd avoid stopping here if you can, unless expired yogurt, empty cereal bowls, and showers and sinks that won't drain don't bother you. It's odd to see this place listed among recommended stays for a Véloscénie trip.

We got a warm welcome from Mr. Gobillon while we were in Maintenon, and the stay was good value for the money. We also heard some interesting historical stories about Madame de Maintenon and the town, as well as anecdotes about Mr. Gobillon's family history.

Mr. and Mrs. Gobillon met us at the train station, which made for a fantastic welcome. Mr. Gobillon knows a great deal about Maintenon's history and was always welcoming and ready to help. Thank you, Mr. Gobillon. We hope to return and see how the work is progressing.
