Hotel Moderne

We had a great four-night stay for this price. The bed was comfortable, the room temperature was nice, and the room was clean enough. It was good to have a shower and sink in the room too.

The neighborhood is charming and friendly, although a little far from Paris's attractions. The staff were super friendly and we had a very nice stay. It's definitely no frills, but the bed was comfortable. There was a bit of hallway noise, though I could sleep through it. Excellent for the price.

The area is lovely and the room was an okay size, but I would avoid this place. The bed was falling apart and the room itself was pretty awful. Worst of all was the smell on the second floor. It was one of the worst I've ever experienced, and my partner and I struggled to sleep. When we complained, the man at the front desk just shrugged. We booked through hotels.com and got a partial refund from them, but the hotel refused to give one. Honestly, it smelled awful.

We didn't pay much for the room, but the quality was still well below standard. We booked online through Expedia as part of a package, and nowhere did it say the bathroom wasn't private. We arrived to find a sink in our small room, with a shared toilet and shower down the hall. Both were filthy, and neither had a sink, so we had to go back to our room to wash our hands. The room was dirty and dusty; pipes made noise in the middle of the night, and the thin walls let us hear everything from other rooms and the hallway. Staff talked loudly in the hall in the morning and woke us. There were no 'do not disturb' signs, so housekeeping knocked early too. We'd booked a non-smoking room, but it smelled of old cigarette smoke and had an ashtray. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable.
