Is this hotel still available? I can’t find any rooms on the Choices Hotel website right now. Update, 11/7: Thanks for responding. I tried contacting the hotel through Facebook and Instagram but got no reply. I’ll try email instead. Updated 12/11: Warning, this hotel may cancel your booking without notice. I booked with points six months ago, then recently tried to confirm and found the reservation had been cancelled. The first time I contacted the hotel, they said the booking was fine and blamed a connection problem for why it wasn’t showing in the app. The second time, they said the original booking was cancelled and gave me a new booking number. After I asked them to confirm it, they cancelled that one too, saying I couldn’t book during peak hours. Choice Hotels told me the property was transitioning out of the Choice Hotels brand. The hotel never notified me before I reached out, and the app continued to show “Confirmed.” That’s completely unacceptable. You could arrive and be turned away without any warning. Take care.

The room had several problems. The AC seemed to run on a timer, leaving me sweating when it shut off in the middle of the night. With the window open, the room cooled down, but traffic and loud motorcycles outside kept waking me. With the window shut and the AC off, there was no ventilation. The deadbolt didn’t work. Maintenance showed me that the door locked automatically when closed, but that still meant someone with a key could open it from outside. I felt they were trying to convince me this was normal. We had the do not disturb sign up, yet someone opened the door early in the morning while we were in bed. That should not have happened if the deadbolt worked. It felt like staff could walk into the room whenever they wanted. The front desk was mostly rude. When we asked for extra towels, they refused and even said there might not be any in the morning. The shower was only partly enclosed, so water got all over the floor. This seemed to be a common design issue, since it happened in three of the four countries on our trip. It’s a very dull town to stay in. I stayed back longer than planned one day and found nothing to do except go across the street to get food. I didn’t choose to stay in this dump. I’d have been more comfortable in a tent on the grounds of the chateau next door. Only stay here if you don’t mind people opening your room despite the DND sign, are always cold even in summer, enjoy rude people, can sleep through loud motorcycles outside an open window, and find a stuffy room comfortable when the window is closed and the AC switches off.

Really good, I’d recommend it. The service is better than anywhere else. We had two rooms; room 103 needs some fixing, but it’s still fine.

This was terrible value for me. I found bedbugs, and the room was hot. They would only set the AC as low as 24 Celsius. There wasn’t a phone or fridge in my room, and I don’t understand why there was a stove.
