Novotel Metz Amneville Hotel

The breakfast staff were a 10, genuinely kind and professional. The rest of the staff get a 2, and I'd rather not say more. My laundry came back a full 24 hours late, with no apology. On top of that, they charged me for a dinner I never ate. Unbelievable.

We slept badly because the beds were uncomfortable. The mattresses felt worn and didn't give enough support for a restful night. Breakfast was limited too, especially for vegetarians and vegans: almost no hot or specialized dishes, just basic bread, cereal and fruit. There weren't any protein alternatives or more inclusive options. The Novotel Amnéville is handy as a base for the attractions in the Amnéville leisure zone, and the secure parking was reassuring when travelling by car. The reception team was welcoming and professional, and check-in went smoothly. The common areas are pleasant, but the hotel is showing its age and seems due for refurbishment to meet the modern standards I'd expect from the Novotel brand. It's useful for a short, practical stay, though the dated rooms and narrow breakfast choices may disappoint if comfort and food variety matter most.

There was no hot water at all this morning, and cigarette smoke hung throughout the corridors. My family also couldn't sleep because of loud partying in the next room, even though reception said that room was meant to be unoccupied. As for the food, my husband was served a completely cold, raw chicken leg. The crispy coated chicken in the salad was terrible too. This was my worst Novotel experience, and we won't be back.

The breakfast had a good range of dishes to pick from. The interior feels somewhere in the middle, neither especially new nor especially old. It's out on the outskirts, but the staff were really friendly and enthusiastic.
