It was just right.

The manager was around, friendly, and attentive, and the room was clean and air-conditioned. Breakfast is available, and there’s a little shop downstairs, with several places selling skewers and vegetables nearby. Parking is on the street, either right outside or close by. The neighborhood has plenty going on in the daytime and settles down at night. It’s good value, though having a car is useful for getting out to the beach in the evening from Mamoudzouou.

The hygiene and surroundings were so bad that I’d only put up with them if I were desperate for a room. I really wouldn’t recommend staying here unless there’s no alternative and it’s only for one night.

The bathroom was in rough shape, from the shower curtain to the toilet and sink. After we went out, we came back to find the gate had fallen over and the door was locked. We had a full set of keys, but none worked, so we called the numbers we’d been given. The guard had locked everything up and gone to sleep, and we had to climb under the gate to get in. We also found signs that someone had been in our room and moved things around. The noise near the room was bad too, so light sleepers should expect a hard night. The welcome was poor from the start. The person there didn’t seem trained or well informed and had trouble finding our keys. She said there was a security guard, so we could come back whenever we liked, including around 2:00 AM. This was a bad stay, and I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.
