Zenitude Hotel-Residences Mandelieu la Napoule

We were here on a school trip this year, and the location wasn't great. The service was practically nonexistent, and we had to beg for toilet paper. Our rooms smelled and were full of insects. The restaurant food was TERRIBLE, cold, tasteless, and inedible. The staff were very rude and wouldn't turn on the soccer field lights, saying it wasn't their problem. The terrace table and chairs were muddy when we arrived. If you're even a little late for dinner, they refuse to bring the meal you've paid for. This experience ruined my view of French people, and I would never come back.

When our group arrived, there was nobody at reception, and it took a while before anyone showed up. Some of us had rooms already booked. Inside the house, the cleaning looked unprofessional, with leftovers from previous guests. At the end of the stay, we had an argument with the restaurant owners. They mostly blamed us for various problems so they could keep our deposit, even though we hadn't caused any damage.

The room was clean, and maintenance came quickly and fixed a problem fast. The Bistro owner was also very friendly. But the reception staff were very unfriendly and couldn't manage even the simplest things. The hotel is very worn and needs an update, and breakfast was minimal. I'm still waiting for a proper invoice after five weeks.

For tourists, this place is probably nice enough, and the pool is good. But as an apartment, the room doesn't get cleaned or come with fresh towels. You can ask reception, except it's only open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., so if you're working, you'll never catch anyone. The rooms are okay, but the beds are terrible and slide around, and you can hear everything in the neighboring rooms. There's no breakfast or restaurant. None of that might bother a tourist, but for me it's only three stars 🤣
