We’ve been here twice now, first in January 2024. Both times the apartment was modern, clean and lovely, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The views, spa and location are hard to beat. From the heated ski room, it’s almost ski-in/ski-out, with lots of space for equipment. There’s a beginner slope in front that leads down to a lift, and the skiing works well for families, beginners and intermediates. The ESF school and two rental shops are just seconds away. You’ll also find two restaurants and an après-ski spot. There isn’t a convenience shop, but a free bus runs hourly to La Clusaz town and/or Manigod. We tried the two-bedroom apartment the first time and the three-bedroom one on our second visit. The pool and spa are clean, calm and very well maintained. I’d also recommend the relaxing massage at the spa. We were very happy here and will definitely come back. Thanks so much!

The apartment hotel opened on 23 December 2023, so we were among the first guests. There’s a lot to like: it sits at the foot of the slopes, has underground parking with wide ramps and spaces, and the design and materials are good quality. The pool, well-planned ski locker, cellar for each apartment, efficient floor heating and EV charging stations were all welcome, and the views are nice. But at over 400 euros a night, with no meal plan and just one roll of toilet paper for the whole week, the price felt ridiculous for what we got. Common areas weren’t cleaned during our stay, and the dirty carpet got worse. Construction cleanup seemed incomplete too, with cement dust everywhere, nails and screws in the parking area, and coffee cups left there. Some finishing work was still undone, especially at the front steps, where a frozen lump of construction debris blocked the landing. Check-in wasn’t until 5 PM, while checkout was by 10 AM. The bread delivery service was below average for France. Although the building borders the slopes, there’s no direct access: you have to walk around it through traffic with no sidewalk. There’s also a wine cooler whose door can’t open fully because it’s misaligned, so fitting a bottle in is difficult. The building itself is nicely furnished, but the service falls short of what this price should include. There are plenty of better options for less money and more service. Disappointing, and I’m not sure I’ll return.

The building could use some shops and a rear entrance.

We’ve stayed here several times since it opened. The location is a big strength, with easy access on foot to the slopes and the children’s ESF ski school from the ski room. Reception staff are friendly and committed. Still, some things need attention if the peak-season price is to feel justified. The pool and kids’ pool aren’t warm enough, so children often end up in the spa with their parents. There are no family activities, and group sports sessions would be a nice addition. Apartments also lack storage. Ongoing upkeep seems to be slipping: the clean bedspread and sheets were stained, the bathroom sink had a chip, a door wouldn’t shut properly, and the sofa bed wasn’t clean. We’d requested apartments opposite each other because we were travelling as a family, but the request wasn’t taken into account when booking. We had to push reception to sort it out when we arrived.

We weren’t staying at Le Hameau de l'Ours, but we had a lovely evening there. The Monday music was great, and the singer-guitarist was fantastic with a really good repertoire. We enjoyed delicious cocktails too. The event runs from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and is great for couples, families or friends. Highly recommended.
