Holiday Home La Chêneraie - MXX100

The children had plenty to enjoy, from the estate grounds and forest to the toys and books in the cottage. There are also regional guides and useful stay information throughout the house. We’ve returned six times and plan to keep coming back. The owners, Florence, Hervé, and Guillaume from Metz, have become friends, and their warm welcome always helps make the stay enjoyable. La Chêneraie is a lovely, quiet place to recharge. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, and well equipped for families or groups of friends, with tastefully decorated rooms. Set in the Landes forest in Mano, it really feels like a peaceful retreat.

The grounds are enormous, tidy, and so quiet, and the cottage is well placed for excursions. The owners were quick to respond when we mentioned that the television wasn’t working properly, and they replaced it as soon as they could. Their magnificent Landes-style house is clearly well cared for, and the cottage is well maintained and equipped. The cleaning fee is about €90, though we did the cleaning ourselves. Towels cost a bit much, but having them provided saves room in the car. Thanks for everything, and best of luck to the owners.

The photos on the website match what you find there. Inside, there’s a large space furnished with good taste. The owners are welcoming and helpful, and the cottage sits in a beautiful natural setting. It’s very peaceful, with lovely forest walks nearby, just right for slowing down and enjoying nature.

The outdoor area is well equipped, including things for young children, plus a proper barbecue and a bread oven. We were a family of eight and all had plenty of room in this large, welcoming house. It has a lot of charm, with the feel of a typical Landes home, and sits in a secluded spot away from the bustle. We had a wonderful holiday here. Everything was organized and anticipated by the lovely people who welcome guests to this beautiful family home, which made for a perfect, relaxing stay with plenty of good food.
