The Originals Hôtel Restaurant L'Ormichal Dijon

Breakfast was excellent, served either in the conservatory or on the patio by the pool. There’s also a bar with local craft beer as well as the usual drinks, though you might wait a while since the bar staff also serve dinner. The hotel has a restaurant for dinner, but I didn’t try it, so I can’t comment on the food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s a little off the beaten track, but good for an overnight stop, with plenty of parking.

The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean and tidy. It’s easy to find from the main road. We had a couple of minor issues with dinner, but bed and breakfast for two at around €78 was great value overall.

The bed was nice and we slept well, so it’s fine for a night while passing through. The bathroom and toilet smelled and were leaking. The hotel’s restaurant was very quick, even faster than McDonald’s, but all the food was cold, including the fries and stew. I’m used to a different idea of a French 3-star rating, and I’d say this hotel has way too many stars. Only about 2% of the staff understood and spoke English, which I guess is okay.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and dinner was very good. Breakfast felt limited for the price, with no fresh fruit or whole grain bread. Plant-based yoghurt would be a nice addition too, though it’s uncommon in general.
