Appartements Design Marseille

The apartment gets plenty of light and air, and the location is handy for the port and shopping. The bathroom looks cute, but the low beam makes it hard for an average-sized person to stand comfortably in the shower. There was no openable bedroom window, so airing that room out was impossible. The floor hadn't been cleaned, and since the apartment is self-contained, I had to wear slippers inside. The building itself is in rough shape: the stairs were dirty and the lift worked only sometimes. On the sixth floor, that was a real inconvenience.

Everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided in the apartment.

The location is right in the center, so getting around was easy. The stay itself was a mess. In all three double rooms, the entrance locks were broken and the doors wouldn't lock. One room had no blankets, and the agency wouldn't provide any when we asked, saying summer service didn't include them. Another had a single bed with a sloping base. The bathrooms in the atrium had no ventilation fans, and there was no fan in the bathroom generally mentioned either. We rented three rooms for five people in the last week of August, yet were left with one towel for six days. They said linens changed weekly, but there were no extra or replacement towels on request, which wasn't great for hygiene. The lift kept breaking, so we had to walk up six floors. One person in our group has knee problems and was in obvious pain. On weekends, people experiencing homelessness would get into the building's entrance hall to sleep; sometimes they seemed annoyed when residents came home and switched on the lights. Access was by code, and the agency changed the codes during our stay without telling us in time, leaving us outside unable to get back in. We were also required to wash the dishes and take out the rubbish before leaving, which we did. The photos don't really show what it's like. Calling it a B&B is almost a joke. Save yourself the trouble in Marseille and book somewhere else. Terrible.

The rooftop view over Marseille is breathtaking, and the apartment is clean, well equipped, and has both air conditioning and a fan. Jade is a short walk from the city center, and the main sights, including Notre Dame de la Garde, Panier, and La Major, are about a 30-minute walk away. The bathroom has no window or fan, though.
