Campanile NATURE - Marseille Saint-Antoine

I had to book at the last minute after my other hotel cancelled, and I’m so grateful I found this one. Being able to check in until 2 am helped a lot since we got to Mariselle around 11 pm. I stayed six nights. We only had dinner at the restaurant once because we wanted to explore what Mariselle had to offer, but that meal was lovely, especially the beautiful salmon. Everyone on staff I met was wonderful. The room was nicely set up and had loads of storage. I can’t really fault the place, they’re amazing and I’d recommend it.

My father, brother, and I ended up staying three unexpected days at the Hôtel Restaurant Campanile Marseille Saint Antoine. We don’t speak French, but Google Translate and the friendly front desk staff helped make the stay comfortable and memorable. The WiFi was fast, the food was good, and the hot showers were great. Staff and guests speak plenty of languages. There isn’t much close by, though a wonderful mall is less than a 10 minute drive away.

The breakfast buffet had lots of sweet options, but not much savory food and no vegetables. The staff were nice, if a little slow. It’s a motel beside the highway, with rooms in separate buildings that you reach from outside. The grounds are tidy but mostly just parking. Our room was nice and clean, with AC, WiFi, a bathtub, toiletries, and a kettle.

For a road trip, the location beside the motorway works well, and there’s a bus into town. You can get a day pass for €5. Breakfast costs €10 per person per day; it was okay, a typical European spread without eggs or bacon. This motel is pretty basic. There was a bed, WiFi, four walls, a door, and a TV whose remote was broken. No fridge, safe, hair dryer, trash can, or toilet brush. Seriously, those cost almost nothing.
